Southsea has such a vibrant music scene, and last saturday was no exception. I enjoyed seeing the Beth Oliver Band, of course. Ben Brookes was good as always. I really enjoyed the Exits. All the venues were good.


Two new pupils started this week. Both singers on the scene wanting piano lessons. Excellent!



We are getting busier and enjoying the increase in music lessons. A new venture is occuring with a local band. All hush-hush at the moment, but ...

We have welcomed two new students this week, a jazz pianist with a good boogie left hand, and a vocalist from a local band who wants to develop her vocal technique. All excellent.

News of ex-student Duncan Eagles. 

Duncan Eagles is a London based saxophonist who performs regularly around the UK and Europe including venues and Festivals such as Ronnie Scotts, the 606 Club, The Bulls Head, The Spitz, Pizza Express Jazz Club, Cheltenham International Jazz Festival, Vancouver International Jazz Festival, Charlie Wrights along side some of the top names of jazz including Gary Husband, Derek Nash, John Etheridge, Alex Hutton, Roy Babbington, Nigel Price, Mornington Lockett, Jason Rebello, Kit Downes, Lewis Wright (Empirical) Martin Shaw, Ola Onabule to name a few.
